This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and protect information when you use Sparky, the iPhone app, and this website. Please read it carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using Sparky, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Sparky.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will note changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Sparky after a change means you accept the new terms.

The short version

Sparky is built to help you spend less time on your phone, not to harvest data about you. Your habits, Energy, Time Bank, streaks, and session history stay on your device. When analytics is enabled, Sparky may send limited, pseudonymous app events and technical information to my first-party analytics service, Atlas. Sparky does not send your habit names, Screen Time app selections, journal-style text, contacts, precise location, advertising identifier, or payment-card details to Atlas. The free version shows Google AdMob banner ads; Sparky Pro shows none.

Habit, Session, and Screen Time Data

The habits you create, your Energy balance, your Time Bank, your streaks, and your session history are stored locally on your iPhone. This data is not transmitted to me, uploaded to any server, or shared with anyone.

Sparky uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to let you choose which apps to gate and to enforce that gate. The app selections you make through these frameworks are managed entirely on-device by Apple's own systems. I do not receive a list of the apps you have chosen to gate, and I cannot see how you use them.

Support and Feedback

If you email me for support, feedback, or any other reason, I collect what you send me: your email address and the content of your message. I use this only to respond to you and to improve Sparky.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Sparky Pro is billed and processed by Apple through the App Store. I do not see or store your payment card details.

To manage subscription status, Sparky uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous app user identifier, the product you purchased, purchase metadata, and related diagnostics needed to process and restore purchases. RevenueCat does not receive your habits, sessions, Energy balance, Time Bank, or any other data about how you use Sparky. You can read RevenueCat's own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Ads in the Free Version

The free version of Sparky shows banner ads in parts of the app. They are Google AdMob ads, served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, which is embedded in the app. Sparky Pro has no ads at all: if you subscribe, the ads SDK is never started on your device.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, Sparky uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before requesting any ad. Separately, Apple's App Tracking Transparency governs use of the advertising identifier everywhere. If you do not authorize the tracking prompt, Sparky explicitly asks Google for non-personalized ads. Declining means the ads you see are less relevant, not that ads go away.

Google processes what it receives under its own policies. You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Sparky does not send Google your habits, sessions, Energy balance, Time Bank, or Screen Time app selections. Apple's SKAdNetwork, described in the next section, lets an install that follows an ad be counted without identifying you.

App Analytics and Advertising Attribution

Sparky may use Atlas, a first-party service I operate, to understand whether the app is working and which product steps are completed. Atlas may receive a random installation identifier, app version and build, iOS version, device model, locale, time zone, consent state, and standard events such as first open, onboarding completion, trial start, purchase, subscription, refund, and app session. Purchase events may include the product identifier, price, currency, and Apple's signed transaction evidence. This data is used for product analytics, fraud prevention, purchase verification, advertising measurement, and aggregate business reporting.

If you allow advertising tracking and authorize Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, Atlas may send eligible pseudonymous conversion events to advertising providers used by Sparky, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok, and may process attribution data from Apple Ads, SKAdNetwork, or AdAttributionKit. If you deny tracking, Atlas does not send its pseudonymous installation identifier to Meta or TikTok. The only advertising SDK embedded in Sparky is Google's, for the banner ads described above. Sparky does not embed the Meta or TikTok advertising SDKs. Advertising providers process data under their own privacy policies.

Atlas credentials are encrypted and access to the dashboard is restricted. Analytics records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal obligations, security, and troubleshooting. You can request deletion as described below.

Separately, if you have Share Analytics enabled in your iPhone's Privacy & Security settings, Apple may collect diagnostic and usage data under Apple's own privacy policy. I do not control that collection.

Analytics on This Website

hellosparky.app, this website, not the app, uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate visit counts. It does not use cookies, does not track you individually, and does not collect personal data.

Children's Privacy

Sparky is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If Sparky is used on a child's device as part of Apple's Family Sharing or Screen Time controls, those permissions and settings are configured by the device owner or parent directly through Apple's systems, not by me or by Sparky.

Data Deletion and Your Rights

Because your habit and session data lives on your device, you can remove it at any time by deleting Sparky, which removes its local data along with it, subject to normal iOS behavior. You can also request deletion of Atlas analytics data and support correspondence. Follow the instructions at hellosparky.app/data-deletion or email support@hellosparky.app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, restrict, or object to processing of personal information.
